Thomas Jefferson Head Football Coach for our 2022-2023 School year - Josef Harrison
Josef Harrison was born and raised in Baltimore, MD and made his way to Virginia in 2008 where he would play for the Virginia Union University Panthers. Josef graduated in 2013, at which he became a GA immediately after graduating. The following year Josef Harrison became the defensive line coach and run game stop coordinator for the VUU panthers which would help VUU place top 10 defense in the nation through 7 weeks of the season and help VUU reach the Division 2 playoffs for the first time in 20 years. During his tenure, Coach Jo would also Coach 3 all first team defensive lineman with a few other honorable mentions who would lead the CIAA in sacks and tackles for lost. After departing from VUU Coach Jo brought his talents to Thomas Jefferson High School in 2016, where he would spread his contagious spirit through multiple sports which include; Football, Women’s Basketball, Baseball, and Women’s softball over the years. Coach Jo’s methodology seems simple and straightforward, believing every kid can learn anything if properly taught, and as a coach and educator it’s our duty to teach, equip, and motivate young adults to a limitless future. Coach Jo believes that a student comes before the athlete and if you can be a great student the second part comes with ease. So while winning on the field will happen, winning in the classroom is a priority.
